2/17/10

I recieved these pictures awhile ago in an email. A man left his sled dogs tied to the sled while he went somewhere. When he returned he saw the polar bear approaching the dogs and thought that he would soon lose all of them. Shockingly the bear befriended the dogs. The pictures arent really clear but after reading that article abou
t pictures touching people I thought they would be appropriate. I also love wildlife pictures.

In the article we read, the author discussed that when photographing people, the picture should tell a story/ he talked about photographing your family and having pictures not where everyone is saying cheese for the camera but that their personality shines through. It was a couple years ago when my grandmother said the same thing. We come from a pretty big Italian family with 111 grandchildren. All of our parents used to make us go to Sears and pose for those stupid photots every year then we would give a big 8 1/2 -11 to my grandmother. Then one christmas we gave her a calender that was fillled with pictures of the grandkids, not posed but just hanging out together. She loved it and said that these were the kinda photos she wanted hanging on her wall instead of those ugly Sears ones. Although these pictures aren't perfect, or even close, they still tell a story. It's just getting them to the next level he was talking about where instrad of telling a story to family telling the story to anyone who looks at it.

Running Edited

I cropped the photo really narrow but didn't crop it down height wise. The runner is a tall girl so I liked the way it looked. I also liked the way her body is slightly angled because she is getting ready for a turn.
For the picture of the two of the models moving I noticed there were so cool shadows or blurred edges around them, which I really liked. So I played with the brightness and contrast to make the shadows show up more. I think it shows their movement more.

I cropped the photo so the little doorway was a frame for the two runners.
