Model Release Forms 1/14/10

Such as
  • publishing the photo
  • copyrighting the photo
  • re-using the photo
  • not to bring any legal argument to the photographer

The document is then signed by both the person releasing the use of the photo they are in, the photographer, and a witness. The signatures change when the photo involves a minor, not only does the minor, photographer, and witness have to sign but the parent/ guardent of the minor must sign as well. http://www.betterphoto.com/article.asp?id=37

Model release forms are necessary for images that will be uses for commercial products, such as ads, greeting cards, catalogs, postcards, brochures, posters, websites and other similar things. Model release forms are not necessary for photos that will be used for educational purposes, such as newspapers and educational books.
